Life is busier than ever. With our hectic schedules, many people find it difficult to take time off from work to see their family doctor for a minor illness. On the other hand, symptoms may not begin until evenings or weekend hours when the doctors' offices are closed.

Culbertson's E-Z Care can help take the hassle out of trying to see a doctor during these times. We've designed E-Z Care to be an easy and simple way for you to get the care you need today at the price that is comparable to a doctor's office visit.

When you are experiencing the symptoms of a minor illness, like a sore throat, sinus infection, or earache, just come to E-Z Care. You won't need to make an appointment. The service is located in the same area as our Emergency Department.

E-Z Care hours are:

A registered nurse will help determine if your symptoms meet the criteria for E-Z Care. If you meet all the criteria, you will be escorted to a treatment where you will be registered and seen by a physician as soon as possible. Our staff will make every effort to keep your waiting time as short as possible. Please keep in mind, however, that emergency patients will be seen ahead of E-Z Care patients. The CMH staff will do their best to keep you advised of waiting times. E-Z Care is designed to care for patients with minor illnesses only. If the nurse or physician assigned to your case determine that you need lab tests (some exceptions apply), x-rays, pain medication, or more extensive care, you will not be eligible for E-Z Care. At this point, you will be offered Emergency care with a corresponding raise in fees. Our staff will keep you informed about your level of care.

Examples of E-Z Care eligible illnesses or injuries:

• Sore throat
  
• Cold symptoms
  
• Sinus infection
  
• Ear ache
  
• Eye infection
  
• Urinary tract infections
  
• Minor skin irritations
  
• Suture removal or wound re-check
  
• Toothache
  
• School sports physicals
  

Some lab tests are acceptable through E-Z Care, but there will be an additional charge for each test performed. Examples of lab tests that are available in E-Z Care:

• Throat and urine cultures
  
• Strep tests
  
• Urinalysis

The charge to be seen by a physician in E-Z Care is $84. A partial payment of $50 (or your co-pay amount) is expected after treatment. You will be billed for the balance of the charge. This charge includes a 24-hour dose of medicine from our formulary.

It is your responsibility to know if your insurance covers E-Z Care services. You should contact your insurance company if you have questions about your coverage. Please be aware that Medicare and Medicaid do not recognize E-Z Care as a covered service. Therefore, patients with these types of coverage are not eligible for E-Z Care.
